2021 Refund Policy

In light of the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Walking Tree is offering a modified refund policy:

For anyone applying between September 15, 2020 and October 31, 2021, the $500 deposit and any other Program Tuition payments made are fully refundable until 120 days before your scheduled departure. Should a participant choose to cancel after the refundable deadline (120 days before your departure) for any reason, the $500 deposit becomes non-refundable and our refund schedule (below) applies. Credit card fees are not refundable under any circumstance. 
If within 120 days of departure Walking Tree chooses to modify/postpone any program due to changing circumstances, participants will have two options:
  1. Roll your application and payments to a future program.

  2. Default to the standard refund schedule outlined below.

Deposit

A deposit of $500 per person is required to reserve a space on a program. Deposits are applied to the final payment of the program tuition. For travelers who enrolled before September 15, 2020, the deposit is nonrefundable 72 hours after submission. Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure, unless otherwise noted upon invoicing. If full payment is not received by the final payment due date, the participant’s place cannot be guaranteed on the program. If an application is received within 90 days of the program departure date, 100% of the program tuition will be due at the time of enrollment. Any participant who returns from a program before the scheduled return date forfeits the program fee and must cover all expenses associated with an early return.

Early Withdrawal Refund

Following enrollment, a participant’s withdrawal from the program for any reason, including, but not limited to, illness, injury, family engagements, work-related issues, or geopolitical or health concerns, missing multiple program payments, or other personal reasons, will be deemed a cancellation. Please understand that there will be no exceptions to our cancellation policy. Per person cancellation fees are based on date of written notice to WTT. WTT will refund on the following basis:

Cancellations within 72 hours of enrollment: Full Refund minus credit card fees.

Cancellations 72 hours after enrollment to 121 days prior to departure: 100% refund of program tuition, excluding the $500 deposit and credit card fees.

Cancellations between 120 days and 91 days prior to departure: 75% refund of program tuition, excluding the $500 deposit and credit cards fees.

Cancellations between 90 days and 61 days prior to departure: 50% refund of program tuition, excluding the $500 deposit and credit card fees.

Cancellations 60 days prior to departure or less: No refund. Travelers are given flight credit if allowed by airline.

Final program tuition payment is due 90 days prior to the departure date. If you enroll within 90 days of the departure date, the tuition must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. If you enroll 120+ days before the program, you have the option of a monthly payment plan.

If the participant has scheduled their own airfare and if the flight is delayed or if for any reason the participant is prevented from joining the program on the scheduled departure date and time, or if the participant chooses to leave the program early, we will not provide a full or partial refund or credit toward a future program.

We reserve the right to cancel any program due to low enrollment or when a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning is issued for the destination.

Any participant who returns from a program before the scheduled return date forfeits the tuition and must cover all expenses associated with an early return.

Additional Fees

Applications received after the registration deadline may be subject to additional tuition fees for airfare, hotel, transportation, administration and other expense increases.

Promotion Codes

If you receive a promotion code for a tuition discount or other promotion, you must include this promotion code in your enrollment form at the time of enrollment in order to be given the promotional discount associated with the code. You will be given the option to do this on the final page of your enrollment form before you arrive at the payment page.*

*Promotion codes are often invalid after a certain date. You must enroll and include the promotion code before the deadline in order to receive the promotional discount.
