Activity 4: Staying Informed
How It Works
Now that you've seen that there are cool companies out there that are doing great environmental work, it's time for you to do your own research and to start getting involved.
How You Do It
- Go online and find 3 companies and organizations that are doing something to help the environmental cause that you’re passionate about. This could be an animal conservation project, an innovative company like one of the businesses in the “out of the box” activity, or an environmental education organization.
- Subscribe to those companies’ online newsletters and/or social media pages to stay up to date on their accomplishments, news, and events.
Take Away Points
- This activity is about applying your passions. By now you should have some areas in environmentalism that you are passionate about and will use this activity to find others who share that passion.
- Having a mentor that is passionate abut the same environmental issues as you can really help you on your path to making a positive impact. It is worth reaching out to these companies to connect with someone individually. Introduce yourself and share your experience and interests, and they will likely be happy to connect you with other people, organizations, or initiatives to guide you as you work to make change!
