The Itinerary
We do everything possible to abide by itineraries as originally planned, but decades of experience teaches that we must be flexible in our planning. Changes to a trip’s schedule are uncommon, but Walking Tree reserves the right to make adjustments to programming in the best interest of the group.

| May 27 | USA - Barcelona | Today the group will travel from the USA to Barcelona, Spain, arriving the next day. | Airplane |
| May 28 | Figueres | After arrival, we'll head straight with our private bus to Figueres, Salvador Dalí's hometown and the site of his famous museum and theater. Later on we'll get settled and have an orientation meeting to discuss the upcoming trip in detail before heading out to do a bit of exploring in the city. | Figueres Hotel |
| May 29 | Figueres - Girona | Dalí day! After breakfast we'll spend the morning exploring the surreal Dalí Theater-Museum, which is not only about the artist, but was actually created and designed by him. After lunch, we'll head to the beachside town of Cadaques which was Dalí's only fixed abode for most of his adult life. We'll visit this amazing home and take in the local sites before heading to Girona. | Girona Hotel |
| May 30 | Girona | In the morning, we'll head out on an adventure of Canyoning, a combination of walking, jumping into rivers, climbing and rappelling down cliffs, all under the guidance of safety pros. After the adventures, we'll have time to wander the old town along with our local expert of Girona including the Jewish quarter and the medieval area followed by a leisurely dinner. | Girona Hotel |
| May 31 | Girona - Barcelona | After breakfast, we'll head to Barcelona and visit La Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Las Ramblas and, if the group's up for it, Montjuic, a large hill that overlooks the entire city. We'll also break into small groups and have a photographic scavenger hunt, a fun and interactive way to see the city. | Barcelona Hotel |
| June 1 | Barcelona | Our Barcelona journey continues, we will visit the unique Parc Guell, named after Eusebi Güell, a wealthy entrepreneur and aristocrat who had a great passion for Gaudi’s work and became his patron. We will have a picnic lunch in the park, with incredible views of the city. We will have free time to check out Barceloneta beach before the evening when we'll prepare our own authentic Spanish dinner in a hands-on cooking class! | Barcelona Hotel |
| June 2 | Barcelona - Madrid | After breakfast, we'll make our way from Barcelona to Madrid via train. Upon arrival, we'll drop our bags at the hotel before heading out to explore Madrid! First stop is the Prado Museum, one of Spain's most famous museums. Afterwards, we will check out El Retiro park, having some time to relax and enjoy the sunset before we head to dinner. | Madrid Hotel |
| June 3 | Madrid - Toledo | Today we take a day trip via train to Toledo, an ancient city set on a hill above the plains of Castilla-La Mancha. The capital of the region, it’s known for the medieval Arab, Jewish and Christian monuments in the walled old city. We'll visit the Alcázar and enjoy a delicious lunch with some free time this afternoon before heading back to Madrid for dinner. | Madrid Hotel |
| June 4 | Madrid | For our final day in Madrid, we'll spend the day exploring Spain's cosmopolitan capital by foot and metro. Depending on what students are interested in, we may visit the Royal Palace, the Temple of Debod, and the West Park or visit the famous Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. Tonight, a celebratory dinner to commemorate our adventure together! | Madrid Hotel |

Accommodations
In order to provide a safe and memorable experience, we follow strict guidelines when choosing group accommodations. Walking Tree partners with hotels and guest houses which are centrally located, locally operated, clean and safe. We inspect each partner hotel to ensure they meet these standards.
TOC Hotel Madrid
TOC is a spacious and hip hotel located in the heart of Madrid, just minutes away from the metro and major tourist attractions. This is a modern and hi-tech hotel with a friendly staff and a great breakfast! Travelers will have their own beds, distributed between double, triple and quadruple rooms.
St. Jordi Sagrada Familia
Centrally located in Barcelona, this hostel has a skateboard-theme and is great for young adults. This facility has air conditioning, free wifi, guest computers and security lockers. Students will be grouped in their rooms according to gender and availability.
Hotel Pensinsular
The Hotel Peninsular perfectly combines the comforts of a modern hotel along with the historic aesthetic that comes along with a 19th century-era building in the heart of Girona. With over 150 years as a hotel, the staff is an experienced group of professionals whose friendliness and attention to our group consistently makes our stay an unforgettable experience.
Hotel Travé
This historic hotel in Figueres is located in the heart of the Empordá and has welcomed travelers from all over the world to its accommodations for over 50 years. The en suite style rooms are designed to make guests feel comfortable and at home. Complete with modern amenities, garden areas, and a pool for use during spring and summer seasons, this is the perfect place to relax between adventures.

In order to give our travelers the best possible price, we break out airfare from the Program Tuition. We will still handle all booking and ticketing via our flight partner who has access to special fares not available to the general public. Once confirmed, you will be invoiced for the flight roughly 75 days prior to travel.
