The Itinerary
We do everything possible to abide by itineraries as originally planned, but decades of experience teaches that we must be flexible in our planning. Changes to a trip’s schedule are uncommon, but Walking Tree reserves the right to make adjustments to programming in the best interest of the group.
| Day | Location | Activity | Lodging |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | DC & Santa Fe | The group will fly from the East Coast to one of the oldest capital cities in the country! Santa Fe, NM is a 400 year old city that exudes confidence with it's beautiful architecture, friendly people and colorful sunsets. An undeniably beautiful setting for any artist! Time permitting we'll walk around the historic city after arrival. | Santa Fe Lodging |
| 2 | Santa Fe & Ghost Ranch | Wake up early for a custom hiking adventure to Bandelier National Monument where you will see how life was for the area's settlers in the 1300s. After lunch we'll visit the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and then head to the artist's retreat, Ghost Ranch, for a weekend workshop. Spend the evening focusing on sunset and night time photography. | Ghost Ranch |
| 3 | Ghost Ranch | We will spend our first full day at Ghost Ranch exploring all this magical place has to offer. We will begin the day working with our hands in a ceramic workshop lead by a regional instructor. In the late afternoon we will set out for a two hour horseback ride into the painted desert through sunset. We will spend the evening after dinner enjoying a bonfire out under the stars and silence of the great Southwest. | Ghost Ranch |
| 4 | Ghost Ranch | Walk in Geogia O'Keeffe's footsteps and see first hand where she found inspiration for her most amazing works. Hike around the Ranch's trails and paint where she painted, taking some time to work on your art and photography. In the afternoon we'll take a yoga class before soaking in some nearby natural hot springs. | Ghost Ranch |
| 5 | Ghost Ranch - Denver | Morning departure from Ghost Ranch. If the group is up for it, we can take the longer route home to inlcude a stop at Taos. Here we can enjoy lunch, souvenir shop and explore the galleries in this charming town before continuing onward to Denver. | Your own bed, eventually! |
