Students Traveling with a School or Group (Custom Program)

  1. Pay for your program either by enrolling in our automatic monthly payment plan (you will pay your first installment at time of enrollment), or pay in full at the time of enrollment. Final Payment is due in full 90 days prior to the program start date.
  2. Fill out and submit your enrollment form online by clicking on the Enroll Now button from your specific program webpage.
  3. Once we process your payment and enrollment form, you will receive an acceptance email with more information about preparing to travel as well as as a login to your account center.

Individual Students (Open Enrollment)

  1. Pay for your program either by enrolling our automatic monthly payment plan (you will pay a deposit of $500 at the time of enrollment), or pay in full at the time of enrollment. Final Payment is due in full 90 days prior to the program start date.
  2. Fill out and submit your enrollment form online by clicking on the Enroll Now button at the top of your program webpage.
  3. We will contact the teacher references entered on the enrollment form to learn a little more about you.
  4. Once we have heard back from your teacher references and you have been accepted, you will receive an acceptance email with more information about preparing to travel.

International Students

Unfortunately we cannot accept international participants on our Smithsonian Student Adventures collection of programs (open enrollment or custom) at this time. We can accept international students on our Walking Tree Travel branded programs.

For participants on Walking Tree Travel programs who are currently living within the United States of America but do not hold United States citizenship, you must make sure you have a valid passport and visa, if required, to enter the destination country.
