So Much Fun

On day 4 in Costa Rica we went white water rafting and it was super fun, the group leaders were amazing! After that we went to a beach that had black sand which was really cool. It wasn’t super black, but it was black enough to be called black and not gray or brown. There were lots of high waves. Afterwards we took our bus to a new hotel which had wifi, and a pool which was super deep. Most of us couldn’t even stand in it. Before going to bed we saw a diamond back snake!

The next day we woke and went ziplining! There were 10 lines for us to go on. There was one part towards the end where you got to choose someone to race against which was so much fun. At the end you could choose to do a Tarzan jump or not, which was also really fun. After they push you off the edge you swing back and forth in the air for a while before the crew stops you to get off. When we got back on the bus went to a big gift shop and had time to buy some souvenirs. Then we had lunch at a place right next to the shop. Soon after we had a 2 hour bus ride to get to the hot springs near a volcano! There were multiple pools and slides to swim and ride.

At the School

Today was an exiting second day of the trip. We were able to visit a school and brush up on our Spanish. We played lots of fun icebreaker games and to finish up there with a big game of soccer. On the way to and from the school we had a breath-taking view of the mountain. Although we had some problems with the water in the cabin for a bit, it actually brought us together and made us closer. We ended the day with a meeting going over our group rules and group hopes for the trip.

Our First 2 Days

We reached Costa Rica with exhilaration running through our bloodstreams. When we reached our first lodge of the trip, Rosa de America, we were met with some locals of Costa Rica, as well as time some time to relax. We got settled in and had the opportunity to take a dip in the pool. When everyone had had their time to settle in, and swim, we had dinner with a couple different choices to choose from. Day 1 of Costa Rica has ended, but the adventure is just beginning.

First Day in Costa Rica

Written by Ethan

We head out of the airport and met with our walking tree travel guides. They are super nice and speak English and Spanish. They tell us all about Costa Rica and the country. We him on our bus and head to eat lunch. They gave us several options to eat including sides of roasted bananas and a mini taco. They even ask us what flavored smoothie you want. It was a very pleasant lunch. After that, we head to the supermarket to exchange money in an ATM and by some food for our long bus ride tomorrow. All the places we go too accept American dollars. We head to the hotel Rosa De America. It is a lovely space to walk around with a pool which we swam in after some ground rules. We got our cabins and unpacked. We ate dinner and which we also had several options to choose from. We headed to a group meeting and talked a little about rules and Costa Rica. (Hygiene and need accessories). Bed time!!
